We're planning to go outlet shopping in the first week of August in Desert Hill outlet. After checking the weather on weather.com, we're a bit scared as it's 118 degree hot. Plus we're traveling with a 19-mth old baby.

Our plan is to visit the outlet and then stay in a nice hotel with a pool for 1 night. Has anyone done that recently? Thoughts? And do you know if the Parker Hotel is okay for small families?

Thanks.

It's incredibly hot this summer - and we're having unusual extreme humidity. That said, the first week in August is supposed to be cooler. The Desert Hill outlet stores (and trust me, I've been in them all!!) are all nicely airconditioned, and the food court area is spacious and cool. It will be extremely hot outside, but bring a lot of water and take breaks throughout the day. Also, some families have spray bottles that can be filled up with ice water at the various food locations. It can help to lightly mist the baby's head/arms/legs with cool water to keep his/her body temp down. It feels good for adults, too!
I don't know anything about the hotel, but as long as there's air conditioning and a pool to stay cool in, I'm sure you'll be just fine.
Have fun and stay cool. Oh, and don't spend ALL your money!!

Outlets huh? Hmmmm. Well I prefer the ones in Oxnard, by the beach. Pretty much the same stores, and it's ....at the beach. Stay over night there....at the beach, where it's cool.
