My daughter has a serious staph infection starting in her finger. It's running up her right arm, causing her arm extreme pain and has caused the lymph node in her underarm to become swollen. I took her to the doctor and started her on the prescribed antibiotic as well as soaking her finger in domesboro. He also drained some puss from her finger.
But never suggested what to do about her arm pain. What can I do to ease the pain in her arm?
It hurts when she moves it up and down.

If she's old enough, I'd recommend Tylenol. It should take the edge off.

The arm pain means the staph has spread and might go into her blood stream and cause sepsis. If she doesn't get better quickly take her to the ER or back to the Dr. Take her temperature every few hours and watch her carefully. A baby dosage of Tylenol could help with the pain but could also mask the symptoms of whether the infection is getting worse. Watch for streaks running up the arm or additional new swelling in the finger. Consider a cold pack for the inflammation.

Unless she is much better in the AM then she needs your care to make sure she is recovering and not getting worse. good luck

Call the doctor and tell him about the pain. If they don't get him right away, go to an urgent care center or an emergency room. Yes, take the day off. I think you need to watch your little girl. Take her symptoms seriously. It can be dangerous.
