I've heard he was a carpenter and if it was nowadays what level of city & guilds would he be?

in my opinion it was an example of him being a working class person,i doubt very much that he was a carpenter or he even existed.All propaganda to keep civilisations civil and gave the churches power over it's followers

apparently he built a self-supporting staircase athousand or so years later, but I think joseph was the carpenter and had his kid help him.

My guess is furniture and primitive tools or farming equiptment--maybe even small structures/houses.
