My mom is Christian and my dad is Muslim. My dad wants me to be in his religion and vise versa for my mom. I don't want to be a Muslim and pray on a rug because one I think it's weird and two I have no idea how to speak Arabic. I want to be a Christian, but I was never baptised and I don't know what they're talking about when I go to church. Sometimes I question if God is really real. No offense to people, but haven't you ever wondered how God was born? Who made him or whatever? Have you ever wondered why people only live till they're in their 80's or 90's? I'm sorry if I'm offending people, but I just wanna know if you beileve in him? I believe, but I have a very big imagination and sometimes question if there really is a God.

I know what u feel right now. I didn't really believe in God at the beginning, but now I am slowly getting there. I was always taught at school that all the problems that we have had in history, is to do with the church, and although my parents christened me, I never believed it and never went to church. But now I have met a really good friend and he has helped me to believe it. I still question God sometimes but I am slowly coming around to his idea of thinking.

First of all, all you need to start with is faith and the bible. If you have faith in God, you are on the right track. Questioning God is absolutely fine, because it helps you to have a stronger faith in him when you have thought about things. But I strongly suggest you read the Bible if you want to be a christian. Start with Genesis, then st. John, then Exodus....then, who knows? I haven't finished reading Exodus yet, and my friend hasn't told me what next to read.

But if you want some more help and want to discuss it more, e-mail me, cuz I was in the same boat as you only 6 months ago, and I know how it feels. My e-mail is: afreakat13@yahoo.co.uk

Good luck, and may God be with you always.

I believe in God. I have always believed in a creator of Earth, and of plant, animal, and human life. Whenever I think any type of life, I am amazed that nature was created so perfectly. I have always felt this way.

I am Christian but have close Muslim friends. I'm glad I was born Christian and also born in a society where I can have freedom as a woman. I respect Islam, and think it is a beautiful religion, but as a woman, and because of some of the cultural interpretations of Islam, I don't think I could ever convert. There are a lot of similarities to Christianity but I feel free as a Christian and I'm sure that living as a convert to Islam would seem very difficult for me.

The religion you choose is up to you. One thing you could try is talking to both Christians and Muslims about your trouble believing in God and listen to what they have to say. Ask about books to read or programs to attend. Also, attend services of both religions and talk to people your age as well as your elders in the various places of worship. Doing these things will help you make the right decision for you.

I am glad that your family is giving you your choice of religions because many Muslims believe that the children must be raised in the religion of their father, which in your case, would be Islam.

Your parents are probably applying some pressure because they want you to be able to follow the paths that they think are right. Many followers of Christianity and Islam believe that their religions are the only way to enter heaven or paradise. It sounds like your parents just want you to be safe and happy.

I think once you open youself up and invite God into you're life, everything else will make a little more sense. According to the bible, God lives inside of those who are in a relationship with Him. Not to say anything bad about your dad, but Islam is a religion with do's and don'ts while Christianity is about a relationship with God and having Him dwell in you and work through you. Things like baptism come later, that's another topic in itself. If you're serious about this, I'm sure a pastor of your church would be more than willing to talk with you and explain things in a way you'd understand better; and I can promise they won't think your weird or anything, dozens of people talk to them each week, and they're almost always willing to help; it is their job afterall.

I believe in God cause He has worked so many miracles in my life and He is very real! It is your choice whatever you wanna be. Being a Christian isn't a religion, it means you believe in God and everything that has to do with Him. Follow your heart. Don't walk away from God. We all need Him in our lives. Pray about the situation and you'll have answers. You don't need to go to church either. It is not a requirement. I don't go to church. I read my Bible and pray. God only asks that you make time for Him. You don't need to go to church to worship Him or pray. Good luck!

Whoever said that you should ask questions is right. As you learn more you will get even more questions. You faith will develop, but it will not be a blind faith. The 3 Fs are FACTS, FAITH, and FEELINGS, in that order. First learn the facts. As you do your faith will grow. Then your feelings will move you to follow. There is a parable in the bible about building a house on solid rocks instead of sand. If we build on sand which can be washed away our house would fall. If we build on solid rock the house will be strong and stable. So it is with our faith. It must be built on the facts not on feelings. Study your bible. In Genesis God said "I am that I am". I have had too many prayers answered not to believe. I had a kidney transplant last year. I am doing terrific. After four years of dialysis I am off the needle. I am a living testimony. I have believed since I was 2.

Don't ever apologise for questioning. Thats exactly what God wants you to do.

Be carefull of people who tell you to just believe without question. For a long time I did not believe in God, but then something happened that changed my mind.
Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.

While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.

Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.

I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.

I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.

I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.

First When it comes to how God came to be. God says this about things we are not spiritual mature enough to understand..

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

And as far as Which faith you should go with. God says this.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:16-18
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
only Gen 22:2

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

You must accept Jesus as your savior, Repent of your sins, invite Jesus into your heart and life, and become a born again Christian. Study your bible with your Mother. She sounds like she's got a good head on her shoulders and your eternal life as her focus right now. Go with God.
God bless you

I believe anyone who can think rationally wonders whether there is a God. You look around the world and see the misery and pain, and you have to wonder.

Yet...I do believe in God. I don't believe such extraordinarily complex evolution "just happened". I believe in angels and that they are watching out for us. I don't think they have wings and wear white and fly around. I do think they are with us and if we listen, they will guide us. Not listen with our ears, but "listen" with our souls.

Christians believe Jesus is the son of God. Are they certain? Of course they aren't, but they do believe. Muslims believe in Allah. My perspective says it doesn't matter what you call this supreme being...I just believe s/he is out there.

There is too much beauty and depth for happenstance.

With sooooo many different faiths out there, you definitely want to check things out. I don't blame you! I once had doubts also.
Find the innermost depths of your heart and pray.
Ask God to show you what is the truth! He is God, and able to do that.
He said that those that hunger and thirst after righteousness would be filled.

May you find the truth!
