Purina tends to have more corn, which is just a filler. Any of the higher quality foods with less or no corn will make less poo and the cat will eat less.
Those are the FACTS. What you decide is fine if the cat does well on it. Some people will not pay more for cat food.

Nutro is better than Purina. For my cats and kittens, I've used Iams, Eukenuba or Nutro. We like Eukenuba the best...but I have to drive over an hour to get it, so we're using Iams.

Nutro is good. But Purina Pro Plan is also a good food. The puppy chow is not good. Just look at the ingredients & don't use the ones with cornmeal fillers

Nutro is better than purina. Science diet, Royal Canin, Iams and Eukanuba are good foods too.

Premium foods: Science Diet, Iams, etc. Nutro isn't bad.

Purina (grocery store brands) are more like "junk food" and don't quite have the nutritional value they should.

Science Diet - be sure to use kitten food for under 1 year as they need the extra nutrients. That is what my vet recommends. You can buy it from any vet or large pet store like Petco.

I'm not sure which is better, but always look for "100% complete and balanced nutrition" on the label. That means if that's all you ever fed your cat, it would get what it needed.

ask the vet he knows. i thimk you should get nutro becuase purina makes mainly dog food so they might not put very good things for cats but good for dogs ask the vet first.
