Well, I bet it won't. I have seen MANY female cats that spray and they do not stop when spayed. I guess you already know that she should have been spayed LONG ago!!!!!!! For God's sake...what is the excuse for not having an 8 year old cat spayed?????? How many litters has she had??????????

Spaying may help but it may have already become a habit for her so you will probably need to re-train her. Something else I wanted to tell you is that your cat isn't young any more and she may have a urinary tract infection. When a cat gets older, their bodies become susceptible to infection. If her spraying just recently started within the last few months and she is seven years old I really think that this may be more of the problem then territory markings. Females don't usually mark territory like the male cats do. I am a vet tech and have worked at the SPCA for years and I see this kind of thing all of the time. A series of anti biotic should get her back to normal. Before she is spayed she should be tested for infection any way. You will also need to spray the areas that she has sprayed with something that will eliminate the enzymes and smell or all of the cats might mistaken the areas for their litter box. Good Luck, I hope all goes well with you and your cats.

take her in for a check up. she may have a urinary tract infection or some kind of renal problems. with that out of the way have her spayed. She may not want to share the house with other cats or may not like the litter you are using. P ut more litter pan out . see if this helps. cats are very strange sometimes and the smallest thing can really upset them.

Maybe not. She will probably still be able to smell where she has marked and continue to do so unless you get a product made to take urine smell out. Try your vet or a pet store to get the product. It will break down the protein in the urine so she won't smell it anymore

probably yeah. my cat has been neutered and i don't want to know if we never did. the house would be so smelly and that would be not cool. so you just got to deal with 2 more weeks. just spray febreeze on stuff and wash what you can. so the smell goes away.

That is too bad cause usually at that age they will continue. But not always true so it depends on the cat. Good luck!
