Why don't whites assimilate?

In areas where hispanics are the majority of the population?I'm not saying illegals,I'm saying Americans of hispanic descent.They are Americans so why aren't whites assimilating?Thats right I said WHITES NEED TO ASSIMILATE.Where's the 22's?Where's the old english letters in the back winsheild,just think of how cool that would be to have "Smith" or "Jones" on your back winsheild ?Cmon PPL!!!!Get with the program!!!

I'm impressed. 33 answers. Isn't it great getting people all worked up? I've been trying all night, and I only had one question get more than 30- hit the limit at 36. Those religious types get all pissy, too.

I haven't read any of the answers yet, but it sure is fun counting them. Maybe I'll try an immigration one next, and try to top you on this one.

Everyone should be assimilating to the culture of the country they reside in. So even if some whites join a predominantly hispanic area, if it's in the US everyone should be living by US standards/rules/culture. That's not to say that hispanics should lose their cultural identity altogether, but the national identity should take preference.

Likewise, if whites go to Mexico or Spain, they should assimilate to the culture of that country, learn Spanish, respect that lifestyle etc.

If minority groups fail to do this (even if they comprise the majority in just that small geographical area) what you end up with are ghettos. People are alienating themselves from the overriding culture of the nation and that unfortunately fuels racism, disrespect etc.

If you really hate a country and it's people that much that you want to live only with your own race, speak your own language and ignore the predominant culture of the new homeland, why go there in the first place?

ps I also think it's a bit pathetic when bigots and racists post moronic questions, then try to pretend they were just being 'funny', contraversial or provocative. How sad.

That's pretty funny ,not realistic but funny as hell. I'm looking at my BMW's rear window and thinking would my name fit back there ?A white American,that owns an Arabian Horse Farm, driving a German car living in an Hispanic neighborhood, hey you cant get more American than that ...lol

Where I come from, too many of them stop assimilating after the first three letters of that word. They're still proud to display a flag from a war that was lost over 140 years ago.

Sure we can be like Canada and have separate countries within a country... LOL. Assimilation to local customs is one thing, but issues like language, loyalty and law are national issues. The issue of state vs. federal rights and jurisdiction was resolved in 1865.

Not really interested in joining MS13 Gangs. I have No interest in working for 4 dollars an hour. I don't speak Spanish and I shouldn't have to this is America Not mexico. I prefer the AMERICAN flag flying in my front yard as opposed to the Mexican flag. I like American Muscle cars not Slow Low Riders. Other than that you got any other questions???????

Well Pancha, I don't know where you live but where I live we have "assimilated" but doing so can result in being called a "wanna be" or something of that nature. No matter though, everyone seems to get along pretty good here.

There is culture. Then there is sub-culture.

I have known a large number of Chicanos y Chicanas that reject your ghetto sub-culture more than the anglos. I guess you don't know them because they don't live down by the trailer park on Alameda.
