Well, I want to be a good person simply because I CAN be a good person. Why would someone want to be rude and cruel for no reason? There's already enough of that in the world, and my goal is to be a nice person who does the right things. Of course, I'll make mistakes along the way...nobody's perfect. But I'll try to be the best I can.

It's an internal drive that makes an individual either be a "good" person or a "bad" person.

But, you also have to define "good" and "bad". And, it's different for everyone. A mother that is too controlling over her children probably feels she is helping her children, thus loving them and being a good parent/person. The children though perceive this as a "bad" trait.

Bottom line.....it's all relative. But I do believe everyone has a natural state, of which, most choose by free will to be good for whatever reasons. For me, it's the desire to make a difference in someones life by helping out in whatever way I can.

I try to be a good person because that's how I want people to be toward me. If you can't be good to people, why should they treat you good? God wants us all to love one another. In the world today, there is enough negativity and cruelty. I don't want to add to all that. How other people act is on them and they will have to answer for it when all is said and done.

Because I finally realized what it means when they say that everyone is a part of God.

Now I understand that Anytime I treat anyone in a less than loving way I am missing a chance to love God.

Its like seeing some part of God as not being worthy of love.

How silly is that???????

I don't necessarily WANT to be good. I just am. The question I ask myself is why don't I do the things that other people do. Doesn't make me morally superior or anything. This is just how I was made.

A good person knows right from wrong as well as the gray area between. They know how to love and be loved, and care and be cared for. They also know how to treat life and when to let life treat them.

I feel like a fu*king care bear. Shoot me.

I've experienced the horrors of being a bad person, it benefits no one. Besides, it's nice to be loved and cherished and most people love and cherish good people.

The fact that Jesus was willing to die on the cross for me makes me want to be a better Christian and person.

I totally agree with Randy here. Jesus was beaten, whipped, and tortured till he started sweating blood, and then was made to carry his own cross to his death site. At any time he could've called the angels down to deliver him from his pain, yet he didn't! he knew that with out this, we would all be doomed. He took it in his stride. So now I think, hey, Jesus died without complaint, why can't I be nice to my brother? :)
