used before the first day of your missed period they are only 6% effective
you ovulate 14 days before your period is due so if you had sex 18 days before it was due then you are unlikely to be pregnant but wait till sat to test so you will know for sure

Honestly, wait untill about 5 days after you're supposed to start your period (August 2nd) and take it as soon as you wake up in the morning. Your first pee of the day has the highest amount of hCG, which is the pregnancy hormone, in it. As time passes the amount of hCG increases, so the longer you wait the more accurate your test will be. If you absolutely can't wait, take the home test & if it says no & you're not satisfied then go to your doctor and have them do a blood test (levels are more easily detectable in the blood). The blood test is the most accurate test to have done. Your doctor might not okay the blood test, though, so be prepared for that.
I've been going through this pregnant/not pregnant waiting game for about 4 months (after my miscarriage) so I know how you feel about being anxious and worrying. I strongly encourage you to wait. The best way to get through the time is to focus on other things like work, school or your favorite hobby. (I've been reading books & scrapbooking like CRAZY!!!!!)
I hope things work out the way you want them to. Good luck!!

grab a box of early detection tests that have at least 2 in the box (ept sometimes will have a "free extra stick" in their box) take one now, and if it shows not pregnant take one again if you miss your period. They can detect the pregnancy hormone up to 5 days before your missed period, but the percentage rate of accuracy drops considerably, i belive its something like 55% accurate 5 days bafore and then rises a few points every day there after to 99.9 the day of your missed period. Also, don't worry right away if you missed your period, if your stressing this badly over it, that can be enough to hold your period off a few days.

From my experience, out of 3 pregnancies, twice the tests were extremely accurate. However, with my second child, it came up negative at least a dozen times. Including one of the times being a blood test. With my third child it came up positive way before I ever had a chance to get close to the time for my period. You just have to place it in God's hands and in time he will let you know what his plan is.

usually it says in the paperwork what the percentage is on what day is tested... i dont even waste the money untill i miss my period... but i'm should be starting around the same time and if you go to babyzone.com and use their calender it tells you when you should be able to test and might get a result....iwould say if you really want to know and dont care wasting the money on the test then take one and if it is negative and your period still hasnt came when it should the take another...if its positive then CONGRATS!

I would try to hold off and see if you get your period that way you have not wasted the test. if your trying to get pregnant then you can use it the next time you have been trying to get pregnant. If you miss your period.
