One of my friends' husband was bitten by a brown recluse spider while cleaning out their garage. Perfect spot for the spider since they used the garage for storage.
He didn't even know he was bitten until he got sick and had a huge sore on the back of his leg.
When she told me about the sore and his symptoms, I told her to get him to urgent care right away.
They gave him a powerful antibiotic injection and tried to treat the wound, but a large portion of flesh was dead or infected and had to be removed, so you can imagine the scare he has now. UGH

No, the nearest i have come is being bitten by using a Pearl Spider (i do not comprehend the clinical call i have continually only reported as them "Pearl" spiders) it truly is a relative of the Brown Recluse, yet no longer very nearly as poisonous. The chew section swells up as enormous as a golfing-ball and starts to itch like hell, it would not go away thoroughly for almost 2 complete weeks.

do a google search for pics, etc...brown recluse bites can be very damaging, they will usually cause a certain amount of necrosis (killing off of the tissue)...it usually forms a dark ring around the bite, and in severe cases I have seen patients in the hospital who have to have surgical reconstruction to fix it. The spiders themselves tend to hide - in rocky areas, behind things, in the back of closets...and are more prevalent in certain areas. If you suspect you have a brown recluse bite, you need to get medical attention ASAP.

Yes, a friend of mine has been bitten. What usually happens is an intense swelling of the area surrounding the bite. Following that, you get an acute necrosis, that is, the flesh around the bite will turn black, die, and rot out. It's not really fatal, but it hurts like hell. The little buggers are a little bigger than a nickel, and of course, brown. They like gardens and rocks and things like that.

Yep.
A friend was bitten by one this spring while repairing a light outside.
A week or so after treatment he had a hole the size of the end of his index finger where the skin had all died. He said it was very painful.

Last summer, i got bit on the butt. *It sucked.. the doc ended up doing two minor surgeries to get rid of the small amount of tissue around the bite. I still have a scar from it.. Lovely little buggers.
