Water Misters are what I use in my outdoor kennels. There are many places you can buy these. Some are fairly inexpensive. Please don't tie out your dog when you are not home. If you must, buy a crate and crate her indoors. Dogs are "cave" or "den" dweller animals and really like a confined inclosed space. It may take a little time for her to acclimate, but once she does, it is a safe and easy alternative to the sweltering heat, and the extreme cold. Think about it please.

Is there a concrete place the dog can lie, if concrete is in the shade it will hold the cool temperature longer. Also, get a towel or two (depending on the size of the dog) soaking wet inhe morning and then put that in the shade, through the day it will dry but it will stay wet and cool through the noon heat rise.
No matter what "potty limit" the dog has my advice is to never leave your dog outside all day when the temp outside is close to 100. Like 90 degrees is ok but getting closer to a 100 i would worry about their health because if they are normally indoor dogs they will have the heat shock and their bodies cannot handle that much heat.
Good Luck!

My dog is the same. I went off and bought him a paddling pool and all he does is bark at it!
If I feel he's too hot, I wet him down with the hose. I take care not to completely soak him but rather just wet his coat enough to keep him cool. Also, you can give her an ice lolly before leaving (maybe making your own so it's quite big). But you're doing right ensuring she has plenty of water and there is some place in the shade to sit in. Dogs aren't stupid and she'll go in the shade if it's too hot in the sun. Provided you aren't leaving her in blazing her for hours on end then I'm sure she'll be fine.

Well, you shot down the kiddie pool idea... =)
If she doesn't like water, that's limiting. I could suggest running the sprinklers for her if she likes to play in water.
Sounds like you're already doing all the right things. Shade, limited time outdoors, lots of water. You could, I suppose, get those plastic things that go into coolers, etc. -- the plastic things you freeze and then put into a cooler, etc. to keep things cold. Getting some of those and putting them out under a towel or thin blanket that she could lay on if she gets to hot might help her cool down.

That's a tough one. I was going to suggest a kiddie pool, but if that doesn't work not sure.
I would make sure there is a lot of shade and plenty of water. One of my dogs loves to be outside when it is warm. It is so hard to get her inside. I have a Newf and we get him shaved at the beginning of the summer. It keeps him much cooler. Maybe you can look into shaving the dog.

Well my parents were very bad pet parents when I was child, so my sisters and I would put an old plastic tub (you know those ice cream gallon tubs), fill it with water and put it in the freezer. Once the water was completely frozen we'd take it out and flip it over and it would leave a giant water popsicle for the dog to lick on in case he/she got hot. in the shade on a hot day, it would last for a good 3-5 hours. We'd usually put two in the freezer each day, some days we'd use both (we lived in houston where there's two seasons, hot and hotter), but usually one a day did it for the doggie.

If she is used to being put out on a regular basis and she has plenty of fresh water and shade then she should be fine. If you are still worried about her, try putting a fan outside for her. Be sure that she can not get her paws inside the blades and keep the electrical cord out of her reach.

Well, from the information you've provided, there seems to be no other way to keep your dog cool. However, I suggest you drop her off at a relative or a friend's house when you're away because dogs (like humans) need to stay in an air-conditioned room. If that doesn't work out for you, then I suggest you get her potty trained like I did with my dog. *Hope this helped*

i was going to say a kiddie pool but something else might work too and that would be a wet spot on the ground something like a mud hole for her to get into some dogs don't like the water that's really all you can do
