What is the difference between the lens at Best Buy for 234.99, and the same lens on Ebay for 734.99. The description for the 2 lenses are identical with Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Zoom Lens. I am trying to talk my wife into buying this before we leave for vacation Monday.

The more expensive lens sounds like the new Image Stabilizer version. Image Stabilizer (IS) uses a gyroscopic system to balance glass elements in the camera to make for steady shots while handholding. This cames in SUPER handy if filming wildlife and you do not use a tripod. It uses more battery power, though.

It could also be the diffractive objective (DO) lens that uses high tech glass to allow for the same zoom abaility but makes for a lens half the size and weight.

If the one on Ebay if the III version stay away, that person doesn't know what they're selling.

This lens is worth nowhere near $700!

There are only 2- 75-300 canon lenses.
One is with image stabilization, the other one is without.
the fstops are both 4 to 5.6. If it is the same lens with a 4 to 5.6 F stop then Ebay is way overcharging. The Best Buy is the true lens.

Greed and Stupidity!

Not sure unless the one on Ebay is a higher qulaity more exotic lens!

You should check out Wal-Mart, I beleive that lens is under $200 at Wal-Mart!
