I completely resent the FANTASTIC SAMS reply, which gets a bad reputation for being much like Supercuts in which stylists are fresh out of beauty school. I happen to work, know people's parents who work, at F.S. and know for a fact that people have been doing hair for at least 10 years at each one I've been to. Unlike the supercuts down the street where there's always knew fresh meat every way I go.

Most highlights start at 50 bucks, but it depends if you want a partial or a full, with one or two colors, with chin length hair. Some salons don't add extra for length/density of hair but only for extra ounces needed to work on your hair. Solid color starts around 70, but could be cheaper on the length of your hair, whether or not you want one or two colors.

You should be able to get a good highlight and solid color for about 100-150 dollars, any more and it's ridiculous.

Fantastic sams it cost 50-100 dollars depending on the length of you hair you could try going to a beauty/cosmatology school. it is sometimes cheaper to get it done there cause you would be the guine pig for a student and if they mess up the instructor will fix it for you. My local beauty school cost me 20 dollars to dye and highlight my hair. At a regular salon it is way more expensive

Obviously you don't have lots of $$$ to do a color and highlight. Why don't you just chose going with highlights?

But there other ways to get it done economically. Is there a beauty school near your location? They have excellent prices basically 'cost' of product. The students don't touch heads until they reach a certain point in their training and when they do there is a qualified instructor there to monitor the process.

Another suggestion, there are beauty supply stores (e.g.; Sally's) that at times ask for 'hair models' for up-coming demonstrations for professionals (done by professionals also) so you might be able to get in on this method.

Good luck!!

Depends on what kind of salon you go to . High end anywhere from $100-200. Moderate prices should be $80-100.

It is anywhere from $80 - 500, depending on where you go, whether you have foils or a cap, which kind of dye they have to use on your hair, and the length of your hair.
