Friend, Ex JW here I am straight though.
All I can say is be glad you are away from that horrid cult.
15 years of my life wasted they will just make you hate yourself for who you are.
Here is a link for Ex JW's there are discussion and message boards.
I know they have burned into you to hate gays just like they turn a blind eye to spouse and child abuse.
Stop living in fear and regret and start living
best wishes to you recovery is a long road but you will get there.

I'd be more worried about being a Jehovah's Witness than about being gay. If you're gay and are part of a family practicing JW then run, run as fast as you can to the nearest gay bar. They'll take care of you there - they will at least accept you for who you are and love you like a real family should. JW are just so messed up. Really just a sad state of affairs. I hope you get the help you need. Or your "friend" does. Good luck!!!

Why doesn't someone ask "I lov oregon" why he and these other ex JW's he mentions are "ex" JW's? Here are some reasons one can be removed from
the Congregation, "Some of the offenses that could merit disfellowshipping from the Christian congregation are fornication, adultery, homosexuality, greed, extortion, thievery, lying, drunkenness, reviling, spiritism, murder, idolatry, apostasy, and the causing of divisions in the congregation. Unlike other religions, we keep our congregations clean.
This is where most of the negative answers come from, disfellowshipped or apostates, A disloyal person who betrays or deserts his cause or religion.
By reading one of his answers, this could be the reason he is no longer a Witness: " causing of divisions in the congregation." just guessing only he & three elders would really know.

It's true that a practicing Jehovah's Witness cannot also be a practicing homosexual. However, there are many that successfully struggle with these tendencies while serving God acceptably.
