Can you substitue vegetable oil with applesauce cuz i am about to make brownies nd my sister says it would be healthier if I put 1/2 a cup of applesauce instead of 1/2 a cup of vegatable oil????????

I have heard people do that. Although it seems it may work better with some recipes than others. If these are chocolate brownies, do you really want them to taste like apple? Or would half a cup not affect the entire taste that much? I wonder.

Yes, applesauce is a healthier choice to oil in baking. It gives it moisture.

Yes, you can. I've substituted apple sauce while baking a cake, and it turned out fine! It is less fattening!

yes you can,you can also use yogurt or sour cream in place of the oil.
