how to copy a subdirectory to a cd. I got as far as "files ready to be written " message but no hint next

no info on next step to burn CD. Have Windows XP on dying computer. Need to backup ASAP. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

When you're on program like NERO, DRAG the subfolder to the BOTTOM windows, then start burn button...

Are you talking about documents? I had Nero on my old Samsung burner. In order to copy Word documents, for example, the CD/RW had to be formatted with Nero. Then it worked just like an old floppy. Right clicked on the folder icon, clicked Copy; Opened the drive for the CD/ROM and right-clicked Paste, and Voila!
