I was talking to a mother at my sons pre - school the other day when she mentioned she had a dog. i asked her what breed it was and she said it was a Heinz. Ive never heard of one but didnt say so to my friend. Im just curious to know what a heinz actually looks like as i thought i knew my breeds of dog quite well.

As a lot of others have already said, a Heinz is a mixed breed dog. But mine's a Bitza. Bitza this and bitza that.

This is a joke. A Heinz is a mutt. It is the food label from a steak sauce that contains 57 ingredients. It means they have no idea what breed the dog is, it could contain 57!

If you have heard of "Heinz 57 Varieties" then you will know what a Heinz dog is - a mutt, a mixed breed - very mixed.

No there isn't. Sometimes people will refer to a dog as a Heinz 57 which basically means it is mixed with so many breeds it doesn't resemble anything.

she is saying a heinz 57. Or a complete mix of all different sorts of breeds. There is no particular way they look. they are just lots of breeds in one dog!
its nice to know that in this age of having to have a pedigree dog being the thing, that someone out there has a very healthy mix. You don't see alot of them anymore.

there is no such "breed" of dog as a "heinz", the term is actually for a mongrel, which is a dog with many "varieties" of breeds in them. Heinz beans had 57 varieties before they found one they liked hence the "heinz"

When people have a mutt they used to say when asked he's a Heinz 57 variety. It means a mutt not a real breed!!
