I'm a 22 year old male. I'm average height.. 5'8" or so, and about 145-150 lbs, which is pretty standard as well. I am a bit out of shape for sure, but I have tried running quite a few times...
it doesn't seem to get any better or easier!
Why can't I seem to run for longer? I was hoping it would be a good way to get in shape!

Also, any tips to make running less boring-as-snot?

Try running for two minutes then walking for two more. Keep doing this until it is easy to run the two minutes, then increase it to three minutes, then four etc. After a while you will be running for a long peroid of time.

As to boredom, try to find people to run with or bring a portable CD player

When I first started running I was much like you describe. It took about a month to work up to a good run. If you start every day with brisk walking then run a bit, then walk again then run again increasing the intervals of running each time, you will start to see marked improvement. I used upbeat music on a walkman to keep me interested. It does get pretty boring, so a walkman or I guess Ipod these days, is almost a must.

Here is a good website for beginner runners:

If you want another way to keep in shape, why not try joining a sport? Sports give you good excercise and are certaintly not boring. As for running, just keep running, keep going the same distance each day until you feel you can run farther. Just keep at it.

You have to build up to the distance you want to run. Each day go a little farther, a little farther, etc. You just started your body not used to running that far. Bring a radio or portable CD player so you wont be board.

you are going to ought to inform them ultimately however you'll traditionally make up a well lie to inform them when you disguise the useless puppy stays. You can say anyone drove by way of and simply hit the puppy and saved on riding. Scrape the puppy stays off you vehicle with a stick or anything like that.

i hate running but its a great way to get in and stay in shape. if you go to a gym use a tredmill or elipical. listening to music helps too especially if it got a good beat. if nothing works go kick your neighbor's dog i'm sure you'll be running then.

Be patient - fitness takes time to develop.
And go running somewhere interesting - with scenery to look at, or pretty girls or whatever. And take your iPod.
