Ok im 15 and 5'4 and weigh 112 lbs. People have said that i have an eating disorder and that im too skinny, even though i swear im fat. In a normal day i drink just mineral water, and consume around 300 calories. If i ever have more than 500 calories i make myself puke it up. For exercise, today i did 20 miles on my bike, 100 sit ups and burnt 250 calories on my parent's treadmill. I try to skip meals all the time, and exercise when its a meal time and say im going to a friend's house for dinner and stuff. When i look in a mirror all i see is fat hanging off me. Im so desperate to loose weight and get rid of the voices in my head. They tell me not to eat because im fat, and they tell me to make myself ill and exercise. The voices never go away, they are controlling my whole entire life. Do you think this could be an eating disorder? or just fat?

Anyone that makes themself puke to lose weight is not functioning correctly. How can you miss that fact? It doesn't sound like you're fat if you weigh 112. Talk to your parents about it.

you know deep down you have an eating disorder, and that's why you're posting on this site. you're probably really unhappy deep down as food and exercise is all you can think about. I was bulimic and anorexic for 5 years and was very thin. I could not believe i was thin and actually thought I looked good the thinner I got. I look back at photos now and I can see the extra hair I grew on my body, my limp and dull head hair, my bad skin, my awful colour. but i really didn't notice that when I was ill. there is so much more to life than worrying about food and how you look. you can't see that now, but one day you might if you can be brave enough to get help. the worst part was putting on the first stone because I honestly couldn't see how I could put a stone on and not explode, it was soooo scary and i was honestly petrified. but after that stone, it got easier and I started to (wait for it) enjoy my food for the first time in years. i thought at first that putting on weight would make me feel worse, and that all the feelings I had would be trebbled, but actually the more weight I put on the more I was being cured as I could see I wasn't getting fat, or even moving up a clothes size. I made a decision that if i got married or had kids I didn't want to let this problem spoil my life and my experiecnes and I have won. don't let anyone tell you 'you'll never get 100% well', 'it'll always be there', because I am living proof that you can do it.

however, no amount of us telling you you're teeny tiny is gonna make you stop hurting yourself. you need to reach deep inside for some courage and bravery and talk to someone who can help you. take it at a pace that suits you. it'll be tough but you can do it. just think about how much nicer life will be when you're not worrying about food, exercise, when and where you can puke. you only get one life, don't waste it on this evil disease. you are worth more than that

It sounds very much like an eating disorder. You seem to have distorted body image. 5ft4 and 112 is in no shape or form, fat and never will be. Do you also suffer from obsessive behaviour, because it sounds like you plan things a lot, like how much exercise and how many calories. You may have an underlying chemical imbalance in your brain, which has contributed to you developing an eating disorder, being obsessive about food/exercise and having a distorted body image. I think you should see a doctor, before things get out of hand. You are verging on being underweight and abusing your body in this way will only lead to long term health problems and stunted growth. Good luck and I wish you luck on your road to recovery : )

Sounds like you are both anorexic and bulimic. Anorexia is a psychological condition where you think you're fat and you see yourself as fat even when you're nothing but skin and bones. Anorexics usually avoid eating with their family and skip meals regualrly. They also lie about how much and what they have ate so people don't worry about them even as they become dangerously thin.

Bulimia is when you make yourself vomit to get the food you have eaten out of your system. It can be part of an anorexia behavior pattern or it can be a disorder on its own.

In your case, I would say that BOTH anorexic and bulimic behavior are present. This IS VERY SERIOUS. If you continue this kind of behavior, lack of proper nutrition will eventually give you osteoperosis (britttle bone disease), and your muscles will waste away and you will lose the ability to walk. At worst, anorexia-bulimia COULD lead to your death.

Look up Karen Carpenter online and you'll see that she starved herself to death because she was an anorexic-bulimic. Search anorexia and bulimia online and see the results of these diseases among people who got help almost too late. If this doesn't make you seek help, then you're asking for real trouble in the long-run because you are ruining your health and compromising your longevity.

ah ya sounds like a eating disorder 112 lbs sounds perfect for your height. Your only 15. Your body will settle down in a few years and you should feel more comfortable in it. But lying about eating and skipping meals is pretty bad. You don't want to end up like those really sick girls who weigh only 70lbs who we see on talk shows all the time do you? You won't be looking too good then.

Tears-don't-fall,
from what you have described, far lower-than-average daily calories and diet, self-degradation on your appearance, and voices within your head. it seems you have issues, with a eating disorder, anorexia, and mental problems. please speak with your parents and maybe consider seeking professional treatment if things do not improve.
at 5'4", 112-lbs...that will place you at 19 or 20-kg/m, which is normal and optimal Body Mass Index. under 18 is underweight, 19 to 25 is normal or optimal weight, 25 to 30 is fairly overweight and greater than 30 is obese. you are in the normal weight range. i cannot comment on where you see yourself as obese, this may be a mental problem that you need to resolve. also, do not search for beauty from foolish glamour magazines and sources for they are biased and bad influences on many people. if you keep your current training and add in some strength training and have a proper diet and good nutrition, you will have your body in attractive shape at and early age and keep good health into your future. best wishes and bon appetit.

I think that every girl in some sense thinks that they are fat! At your age I don't think that you should worry about this. I think that counting calories (for a 15 yr old is crazy!) Stop reading the magazine articles that are making you want to be skinny like they are! Honestly Anorexia and bulimia are brought on my Holly wood. Your body Has not fully grown yet, and what you are doing can lead to being more dangerous down the road. I think that you really need to see someone about this.

God bless you and keep you safe!

If you need to ASK if this is an eating disorder then you should seek help. The fact that you cant reconize it as one is disturbing.

You're dong serious damage to your body. I was anorexic as a teen, and trust me its not something you want to mess with. This is when youre bones become as strong as they need to be to see you through old age, without the minerals and food they need to grow and solidify you will end up with serious problems in the near furture.

Not to mention the long term effects on your kidneys. Its irreversable, and it can shorten your life dramatically.

Then there is the nerve damaged caused by a lack of protective fat that allow for impulses to travel throughout the body.

Not to mention the stress on your muscles. Your lacking immune system, your inability to protect yourself against serious diseases such as cancer.

Of all the things i regret the most about starving myself, its the heart trouble i have as a 22 year old. You heart attrophies because of a lack of nutrients, its sooo incredibly hard to repair that damage. It becomes weak.

You are killing yourself. Plain and simple. If you're okay with that, then please go right ahead. Iam glad i stopped when i did.

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

again to all who think that their fat, check your BMI rate, and your not fat at all! and please do not skip meals because then when you eat, you body doesn't know when your going to eat again, so it stores the food, and that's what happens when you skip meals, also when you make yourself puke, it's really unhealthy, because your ruining the lining in your stomach which can cause a lot of problem. go on line and type in anorexia/bulimia, and see if it fits you, instead, try exercising ever other day, and eat 6 small meals a day, that's a very healthy diet, and you at least need more than a 300 calorie diet, please go get help or talk to a councilor, because your in dangering health... and your defenetly not fat, so please get help.
