Hi.
That's good you called your doctor.
But I think it sound's like you may have just bumped your self with out knowing it to me.
Purple+yellow that's a big bruise,wow.
You don't remember getting that or where it came from,ya that can happen.
No it's never to late.
If it has been there for two week's or more then maybe.
But I don't think you have any thing to be afraid of.
Good luck and let us know please.
Take care Sharon.

Learn the abcd's of skin cancer.

A stands for asymmetry.
One half of the mole doesn't match the other half. Melanoma tend to be irregular.

B stands for border irregularity.
Benign (good) moles have nice smooth edges whereas melanoma are busily invading and tend to have irregular edges.

C stands for color.
If the color is intensely black, possibly with a bluish tint, or the color is uneven across the mole, this is suspicious of a melanoma.

D stand for diameter
if the mole is greater than 6 mm (about the size of a pea), then there is a greater chance that it is malignant.

There is a possibility. It was good of you to go and see your doctor about it. Any growth of something (moles in particular) is a concern. Discoloration (of moles) is another sign. Asymmetry. Border Irregularity. All of these are signals to go and see your doctor. I don't want to make you paranoid, but you do have some of the signs. Even if it is cancer, don't be so scared. Relatives of mine have had skin cancer, and it was very simple to remove. Feel better and I hope everything is okay!

I am not a doc so take what I say for what it is worth and definitely see a doc, but it sure sounds like an old fashioned black and blue mark (from some sort of trauma that left blood under the skin which will be reabsorbed). If it is so, you will see improvement steadily. Good luck.

The first thing to check is the symmetry. If you draw an imaginary line in the middle and both sides look the same it is probably okay. If the sides look different, then it might be something to get taken care of right away. Here is a site for more information:

judging by the color of the mole, how it is multi-colored, has irregular borders, and also due to its larger size, i would definitely go see a dermatologist, like it sounds like you're doing. its understandable to be nervous about going to see him/her because of your new discovery, but rest assured - if you do in fact have skin cancer and it has been caught early, it is curable. you are doing the right thing by going to go see your doctor and getting a definite diagnosis. good luck!

I'm afraid that would be but I'm not really sure. Be patient and see your doc. He is the one knows that thing. But don't forget to pray for Him. He is the best doc I ever know. God bless

It might be skin cancer. I doubt it will do much between now and Tuesday, though: I think you caught it in plenty of time.

Good luck!

Maybe it's just a bruise?? As long as it doesnt keep getting bigger fast, I wouldn't panic...go to the ER if you experience pain or it gets bigger quickly.
