Is she all right or do I need to be concerned? - Also yesterday she vomited a couple of times. She seems alright today - but I just noticed the swelling. Also - She is and has been in heat for a couple of days - and has an appointment tomorrow to get spayed. Any advice? The nipple with the swelling behind it is one of the buttom nipples closer to her private area.

If she has an appointment tomorrow to be spayed..I assume a vet is doing it. MAYBE you can mention it and they can look at it while she is there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could have the vet take a look at it. Have you made sure that the vet will still spay your cat while she's still in heat? Your veterinarian may be different, but I know the vet I work for will not perform surgeries on an animal in heat.

Hi

The swelling may just have to do with her being in heat. I think the worse case scenario is a possible tumor or cyst. I wouldn't worry especially that she will be going to the vets tomorrow to be spayed. Good luck!

Well....I don't know for sure about cats.....but female humans have swelling in their breasts when they are most fertile. So cats probably have the same thing. It could be something else though, like an infection or tumor. Since you are going to the vet tomorrow make sure to ask them about it.

The spay might fix it - but take her to the vet anyhow..
