This is a beautiful, miraculous form of prayer. It's kind of funny what happens when we just shut up, and listen to God for a change! ;)

I had such a bad habit of talking and talking in my prayers that I never gave the Lord a chance to say anything. A time of silence with the Lord is very necessary. Especially when you are told quite literally to shut up and listen. Basking in His presence is quite wonderful, letting His great love wash over you.

Yes, I find this much more helpful than what most typical modern Christians think of as prayer. When we just talk at God, it may help us get things off our chest, relieve anxiety, etc, but when you get down to it it's "Me, me, me."
Silent "listening" prayer is less self-centered, often puts things in the right perspective.
I have a short attention span and no discipline, so I agree with you more in concept than in practice, but that's awesome.

on the topic of "information how the will for God might desire to be different than for the desire to have a spirtual "journey". Insofar as you journey something it extremely is impure contemplation. So seems to be the coaching of St John of the go. yet extra importantly, in no longer searching for an journey you supply your self with protection from fake reviews.
