an ex bf told me that going out with me taught him to "like girls with a bit of meat on them". i'm not huge, i weigh 8stone and am size 8-10 (uk) but i am quite curvy. i took the comment as a bad thing and have been trying to lose weight. would you take it as an insult?

Girl, r u crazy, that most definately is not an insult, its the same as being called thick, which is a good thing, ok, look at it this way, i know u dont ( or well, i hope u dont ) want a guy with no meat on his bones, with nothing BUT bones now do u? he's just sayin that u got enough to hold on to without worrying about breaking you, its a good thing, dont worry and dont try 2 lose weight just coz he said u got meat on ur bones, i bet ur pertty just the way u r and he was tryin 2 compliment u, but, we all know the crazy way guys get close to us and how they compliment, so dont worry, if he dont like it, u know somebody else will, lol

No, don't take it wrong. A girl with "a bit of meat on them." That's a good thing. Curves are nice, and most men prefer it. He wasn't saying anything bad. He is saying he likes to date women with your body type. Curvy. That's a huge compliment.

you took it correctly as an insult , but this stupid sod doesnt undrestand real women have curves. what does he want a girl that has the body of a 12 year old boy ?! oh yuch !

He says you made him appreciate curves - that's okay. J-Lo taught men to appreciate the backside and not women who are too thin. It's okay to me. Don't lose weight because of his comment. Lose weight because you want to. You probably don't need to.

yes- because it would kind of make me feel as if he thinks I'm fat

no- because he may see you as a person that changed the way he feels about skinny women. your weight odviously turned him on in some kind of way. SO, more power to bigger women

He probably meant it as such, but it's a pretty weak attempt at an insult at that.

What someone else likes is their own business.

What an EX says is meaningless.

Be concerned that someone likes you for you someday,
