ZOLOFT! You could try to find a psychologist who does cognitive-behavioural therapy for anxiety.

You need to get professional help. You should see a psychologist and/or psychiatrist. I have been dealing with my anxiety panic disorder for many years. You need to talk to someone to find out what causes them. You may also need medication. The right combination of prescription drugs can make all the difference.
I currently take Zoloft and clonazepam.

Good luck, I have had anxiety for 8 years, which started out as panic disorder. I sought counseling, read books but the best thing that helped me is to realize that all it is is a feeling of doom rather than anything to actually fear. Pray about it if yor religous that also helped. But once you realize it isnt anything physically wrong you will be able to fight it off. Good luck to you.

I'm going through the same thing right now. I'm currently taking Zoloft and Remeron and am happy with both meds. Also I'm getting into one on one counseling and studying meditation. All these things can help you CONTROL your anxiety but you may not be able to rid of it completely. If you discover a way to, though, please let me know! And good luck! Oh, this site http://social.realmentalhealth.com/magazine.php is a mental health support site. You should check it out, it's pretty cool. Take care!

Besides the medications and theropy I have spent many yrs. learning what sets the anxiety off. I plan ahead for everything I do and sometimes I still can't do it. I know when they are coming on so I can go chill out. I am usually at the side of a crowd and not amongst it. Hope this helps.

You might just try to ignore it, you could try getting used to it, if you've had it for a long enough time you might even try to enjoy it, just imagine many people take crack and meth just to feel that way, you could try going to an amusement park and doing the roller coaster over and over until you forgot about it, you could perhaps try yoga and exercise, or vodka and coke, or maybe you should try professional help, like go and see a doctor - they have medicines for that nowadays, you know.

just ask your friend to tell their doctor (the person who originally prescribed the medication) exactly what you said here, the doctor will definitely understand and there is most likely an alternate medication to prevent your friend's panic attacks and that doesn't change your friend's personality or normal behavior. you could even go with him or her to the doctor as support.

I have had this similar thing for about 19 years. I have just started the charles linden program. Look into it. I think it will really help. Meds will help through the rough spots but to be truly cured you have to retrain your mind.
