Strangely as I read your question, the song "Saturday Night Fever" came on :-) weird.

Oh, googling gave me this song by Nance:

"Just another tangent from A to B
Useless barking up the wrong tree
So if you don't mind, I'll sit a spell
And wait for your emergence
From the hubs of hell"

Ummm. I don't think that's it... you know the first thing I thought when I thought hubs was the hub caps of a wheel. The hub is really the center of a wheel. Then the image of hell as a big wheel conjured up in associative thoughts the memory of Dante's Inferno, the levels of Hell ... but that's not really a wheel. Hell's angels is a motorcycle group, and they have lots of wheels there. Could that be it? Before I got a optical mouse, I used to experience a lot of Hell with my old mouse, and that one had a wheel. ... Hmm...Searching the www again I found a reference to the Bhavacakra, a Tibetan /Buddhism belief in a large wheel turned by the God of Death, so that's sort of like Hell. Here is a description of the Bhavacakra:

"The rim of the hub is divided into two sides. One side is the White Path or Path of Bliss, and represents how souls may move upward to the World of Gods. The other side is the Dark Path, which represents how souls may move downward to the World of Hell.

In the hub, the center of the wheel, a pig, snake, and rooster turn in a circle, each biting the next animal's tail and representing the greed, hatred, and delusion,
he rim of the hub is divided into two sides. One side is the White Path or Path of Bliss, and represents how souls may move upward to the World of Gods. "

Actually, i don't think this is the answer either.... :-)
