I resently had a visitor who brought their dog with them while on vacation. And It had flees. Now my dog and two cats have flees and I don't know what to do to get rid of them. I can't use bombs or spray. And my cat is sensitive to flee treatments. And the powders and shampoo's do not work. Are there any home remedies to suggest? HELP

dawn dish washing liquid definitely works...
another thing our vet suggested was using rubbing alchohol and a flea comb...dippint the flea comb in the alchohol and then running it through their fur....
you will need to treat the carpeting as well....how about a carpet steamer? that shouldn't be too harsh on the animals.

Have you tried tea-tree oil mixed with water then bathing all three of them in it?

If nothing store-bought is working and the tea-tree oil fails, I really suggest going to the vets and getting something more powerful. The vet will give your cat either drops or an injection that is mild for her but powerful on the fleas. When this is done, put the cat in the garden and deflea the house with flea spray, washing any bedding the cat uses and give your carpets a good vaccum.

Can you put a flee collar on your cat? The powders and the shampoos do kill the flees on your pets...the problem is they are in your house. So as soon as the ones on your pet die, new ones jump on. Try giving your pets garlic supplements, it repels fleas and ticks and is also good for the animals. Most of them actually enjoy eating the supplements too.

if you have any sours of flees : all your clothes that you wore and sheets wash it, take a bath and use powder and don't scratch. If your are thinking of your dog, do the same thing and use anti-flee powder for dogs any veterinary can tell you which.

The only way I know is to treat the carpets, bedding and floor areas as well as the animals. If you don't, you will probably get a hatch and have thousands of them.
