He hates when I tell him how to drive or point out things so I try to remain quiet but....tonight he was clearly looking at 2 women on the sidewalk when the van in front of us braked. I know when I said something and he looked, he had to brake suddenly, yet he was still annoyed with me and pretended he knew what he was doing. Then 2 minutes later he takes a short cut through a parking lot to avoid a detour and was going kind of fast and had to veer because someone else was taking the shortcut too from the other direction. He just said "other" people don't know how to drive. Anyways, we made it home alive but he was annoyed that I said anything twice.

I don't mind at all if he looks at other women. It is normal but I would like him to be more aware of the road.

I dont get upset when anybody is trying to prevent an auto accident, even if I am "on" it.

I used to.

But then someone pointed out to me that I should never be mad if someone is trying to be safe.

Anyway, your situation with bf is a little different.

You were trying to prevent accident and you were most likely annoyed by his wandering eyes.

Seems like he has some anger problems. And for you, as his wife it must be difficult to put up with these problems, and I don't think he has that problem only on the road.
I suggest you try to find the root of this problem. Has he always been that way? If so, the best & simplest thing you can do is avoid sitting in the passenger seat. Take charge and drive.
If this is a new problem seek professional help. Or start talking to him when he's not driving. Communicate. Is he under a lot of stress? or abusing alcohol or substances.
Be careful when you talk about his bad driving habit.. don't start off attacking him. give your self time to cool off...
Good luck, I hope things get better for you.

Your significant other sounds like hes about 15. Can you imagine yourself living with this kind of behavior for 30 or 40 more years? If he is grown now he won't change. So either get used to it or get on with your life elsewhere. m

don't get intot he car with him unless ur the 1 driving. u could b a b!tch and get him a ticket by reporting his behavior. if there r children involved, he wouldn't b driving them ANYWHERE.

and if u don't have the guts to do any of these things and continue to endure it.... buckle up til u get some brains

I hope he only acts this way when it comes to his driving, and doesn't look at other women that often.

Is there any way *you* can drive more often?

I guess everyone gets annoyed with backseat drivers, but he shouldn't get upset at you. You're only trying to help.
