You don't. You have to ask if you were in love in the first place.

I've been trying to answer this question for years. I don't really understand it. I think you lose interest in the person. Everyone knows that when you first date it's wonderful! That is the falling in love stage. After that, a deeper meaning of love.
Many people can't just stay with one person. All in the end they will always have love for you. They aren't in lust with you anymore. I hope this helps!

It's hard to fall out of love and no one in their right mind is going to tell you that it's easy. But if it's not meant to be then let it and the person go. There HAS to be something better out there for you so keep thinking of that as you move on with your life.

it's hard, i know.. the best thing to do is to find things productive to do with your time.. Other than think about the person.. Find a new project to take on, go out with girlfriends. Do extra time at work.. Anytime that need to think about that other person comes about, do something else. AND- with time all wounds heal. so after a while it will get easier, and easier.. Good Luck!

Time (and lots of it) combined with either space away from the object of your affection, and/or another person to love.
This is one of the hardest things everyone in their life can face. To quote someone famous (I forget the name): "We choose to love, but we do not choose to stop loving."
I am dealing with exactly this thing. This person is at my job, and talks to my friends who are also at my job. I have it hard. I am looking for a new job.

you just realize that the person you love(d) isn't the right one for you by either their actions or by happenstance.
