Absolutely when used in a regular fitness regimen. For weightfters protein powders are essential for growth and recovery.Protein must be consumed about every three hours by people involved in such activities.Nitrogen balance starts to decline after about 2.5 hours.Maintaining a positive nitrogen balance is vital to muscle growth.Failure to do so puts your body in a catabolic state(opposite of anabolic or muscle building).Protein powders and simple carbohydrates should be ingest no less then 1/2 hour after an intense workout to place a positive effect on testosterone production and growth hormone production.Whey protein has the highest biologicle value in humans. The best one on the market bar none is Designer Whey from Next Proteins. This isn't just my opinion. All of this has been proven in university clinical tests.Outta room

Protein powder works excellent if you use it right. You need to have 1gram of protein per pound of body weight every day. (if you weigh 125 lbs you need 125 grams of protein) Gradually work you way up to the amount needed, as the extra protein can sometimes make your stomach feel upset because your body isn't used to digesting that much more protein each day. Be sure to drink your protein before AND after each workout. Have your first shake with breakfast and your last one right before you go to bed. Rest as often as you feel tired because that's when your muscles grow & recover from the workout. At first you may feel like all you do is exercise, sleep & drink protein, but it won't always be like that. Once you get into a routine it'll be a piece of cake. If you take the protein like I said you should start to see results in a week or two, provided you're eating right and staying on your workout routine. Any more questions about this don't be afraid to ask.

I started taking protein supplements about 2 1/5years ago when I got out of Boot Camp. I'd gained 30 pounds of fat & in three months I lost the 30 pounds of fat & put on 10-15 pounds of muscle. I walked to & from work every day (I lived on the Base), never rode the elevator (walked up & down 6 flights of stairs every time I went anywhere) & lifted weights for about 2 hours every day after work. The only downfall to my success was that I drank a six pack of beer every night after I worked out. I could have put on more muscle had I not drank so much beer. That is why proper diet is also a HUGE key factor in muscle growth & weight loss.

Good luck!!!

The answer above is right, Shaklee is excellent. You might not need a protein shake tho. Go to your search engine and type in "protein how much do I need?" and see. Most of the time we don't need any extra because we get enough out of our daily diets, we eat alot of meats etc.
