First off, you have to get the right one for your skin. If you pick the dark one, a tan pops up like overnight - which is fine, except for the fact that it's too easy to streak/leave bits out. At least if it comes in gradually you can spot problem points. But you pretty much have to stand there until it dries (which takes longer than you think) 'cause even resting your arm on something or creasing it will leave white spots. Also, some of the bladeless shaving creams strip you of the tan you get going.

On the plus side, it smells nice. But it's rather fidgety ... so if you're willing to put in the time for it, it will certainly give you the tan. For best results use it daily, and definitely check how that fits into your budget.

I have not tried it but I do like the Oil of Olay "Touch of Sun".
