first, let me point out this is a free country and people enjoy a certain way of reading the scriptures.
The divisions divide, not helpful, but immature people need to grow so that is why they exist . . because of one's need to be right!!!

Good Question! Somewhat, but probably no, it COULD be VERY confusing for new Christians. Everybody interprets things in the Bible different ways. I believe speaking in tongues(1Cor. 14) is actually about talking in a foreign language. Some churches believe it is about some Godly words that nobody understands except the person speaking it and the interpretor. That's why I don't or won't go to a Pentecostal church and that's why they would probably never come to my non denominational church. Most of the divisions are caused by doctrinal differences I believe. Someone believes something I don't and I believe something they don't. I think after a while of being a Christian, the divisions are useful as I stated above, but I don't think it helps new Christians because of some of the confusion.
