You would be considered an unattended minor aka (UM) Most of the time there is an extra charge for you to fly because either a gate agent or a flight attendant must escort you. Your parents or another adult must pick up up and sign papers, you will never be alone. While onboard you will most likely sit in the front of the cabin and the flight attendant will try not to get you to sit next to another person.
An Unattended Minor is a Child between the ages of 5-14 that are not traveling with someone age 15 and over. TO avoid all of the blah and messy confusion, wait until you are 15 to visit your brother.

Some airlines stop the Unaccompanied Minor at 12, it just depends on where you are flying and who the airlines are. Most airlines require the UM fee's and escort service for kids age 5-14, some 5-12 and some will not take UM's on flights that require a connection and others not at all. Like the last person said, I was a ticket/gate agent too. Wait until you are 15, and there will be no questions asked. You can fly by yourself, with out the escort service.

i bet they aren't allowing to to travel alone because of increased security reasons. most want kids to be accompanied by an adult, but check with different airlines and see what they tell you.
