Wear something comfortable and casual. No need to get all dressed up unless you're going to the clubhouse, where dress codes might apply.

What a Fantastic place to watch a horse race!
In the old days everybody got dressed up...guys in suits and ties and the ladies all wore dresses. now there is the people who dress up--but mostly people dress like they are going to a concert or the mall.....although wear a hat -that Chicago area sun can be a killer.....best of luck at the track!

It really depends on the company you plan on keeping. If you are going with an owner or trainer then business casual would apply. But if you are going with some friends to hang out then you should wear something casual and comfortable. The racetrack crowds really run the gamut - drunken frat boys in the picnic area to millionaires in the owners box.

Depends on how close you are to the track. If you're really close, wear something nothing can stick to. If it's a crowd situation, sew your pockets shut.
