Its likely a sprain, when you turned it you likely stretched ligaments and they take time to heal. In really bad cases you can tear them.
You can probably count on a couple weeks of soreness. Might not be a bad idea to get checked out by a clinic though. For bad sprains casts or taping are not unheard of.

You have 'twisted your anke' i did it about 6 times a month back at school where i would run and step in a pot hole - rest it - it is not serious - it is not broken - you will be able to walk with no problem within 2 - 3 days and be fine in less than a week - maybe less - put some ice on it to ease the swelling and rest it.

- Obviously if the pain persists then there is no reason to suffer - you may have a very bad sprain or you may have ripped some muscle tissue or worst case scenario retained a hair-line fracture - you should go to a doctor straight away.

Jessica you have rolled your ankle. I've done this plenty of times. If your ankle still hurts at the end of the week you should go to the doctor to get it checked out it could be nothing or it could be a sprain. Be careful.

Keep it elevated. If it is more then 48 hours after injury, apply heat. Use an ace wrap to help keep the swelling down. Stay off of it.

Riding your bike is not staying off of it.

Take a pain killer.

If it gets worse, go to a doctor. If it gets better every day then you are going in the right direction.

You most likely sprained it, i.e., over-pulled a ligament. You might want to get a "brace" from an orthopedist. They will also x-ray you to make sure you did not break anything. The brace, if it's just a sprain, helps keep you from bending your ankle.

It might be a sprain- go see your doctor or go to the emergency room. They'll xray it and make sure it's not broken and probably wrap it up.

you need to go to the doctors and get that checked out you could of sprained or broken it or you could of torn a ligament. they will take xrays and go from there. do it soon before you hurt it even worse.

You have a high ankle sprain, elevate your foot, ice it and try not to walk on it much.
