Yes, you can, but your best bet is to go to a community college _FIRST_. Many community colleges have special arrangements with larger universities to help their students transfer from CC to university. Some California CCs even have guaranteed admission to the University of California after two years.
So, you can do your GE (general education) in two years at a community college (grades are actually important here). Then you can transfer to a university to do your major and minor (higher level) classes.
If you don't know what university you want to go to, talk to the local CCs first about their programs. If you _do_ know where you want to go, talk to the admissions people to find out what your best bet is for being accepted.
Good luck - and good work on your GED!

Yes, a college could still accept you with only a GED. But, good colleges have a limited number of people they will accept, and they have strong criteria of who those people would be. One of the strongest criteria would be academic performance. Since you did not graduate high school you don't have a strong academic record. The best way to get such a record would be to go to a Junior College first and then apply to a major college. If your grades are good enough in Junior College then the University would be more likely to accept you. Also transferring between schools is much easier than trying to get accepted by one.

Of course. You still may have to take college boards for the 4 year universities. 2 year community colleges will accept the ged without college boards.

You will require an acceptance from the college, otherwise there is no reason you can not go to college with a GED.

Some colleges may be biased against GED holders, but you should be able to find a college that will not be; a public institution would probably be a better bet.h

try community first. most major colleges or major branches will not accept you with a GED. smaller ones just need students to enroll so you have a better chance of getting into one of those.
