Well, first of all, if she likes you then there is no way you're going to break up with her without hurting her feelings. So whatever you do, make it as nice and as hurt-less as you can (without making up anything). Just speak from what you really feel, and that's the best you can do.

By telling her the truth....it is as easy as that. She may hurt for awhile but at least you are humbling yourself and telling her the truth that you do not have the same feelings that she does with you. In the long run not only will you feel better for telling the truth, but she can look back and know that you were a gentleman and did the right thing.

It's always gonna hurt her but in the long run it's better not to be with her if you don't feel the same. You need to sit down with her somewhere privite and quiet and tell her face to face and explain your not ready for a serious relationship right now so you don't want to hold her back. Your sorry that your not in the same place as her right now but that she deserves to be happy and you can't make her happy etc.. what comes from the heart :-) I hope it goes ok

Her feelings will be hurt, not matter what. Be a gentleman...GO TO HER PLACE...have dinner, no t.v. or movie, maybe dinner, then after dinner instead of dessert calmly break the news; "we're not on the same level, and I am not ready to move forward beyond freindship" than after she has her say you can leave. :) Do not break up at your place because it is harder to get her to leave without having "SYMPATHY SEX" which you both will hate yourself for in the morning. Good luck.

Just be honest. If you make excuses or blame it on her, she is more likely to get upset. Obviously she likes you a lot, so tearing yourself away from her is going to hurt anyway. But try to be gentle and most of all tell her exactly how you feel (be completely honest).

Well, the best thing to do is just to be honest. It will hurt but, she will respect you later without being devastated emotionally. Tell her you think she is cool, but for now you guys can not be together. That she can find someone else better suited for her.

Once you break up with her it will hurt. I know this sounds cruel, but if you want to break up without hurting her feelings, act like an @$$hole and start treating her badly (no abuse, no cheating). Soon enough she'll break up with you and then no one gets hurt.
It's not very ethical but it works.

Tell her that your feelings have changed and things arent the same as they used to be. But make sure you stress the point that you still want to be friends. Who knows.. maybe somewhere down the road you two will end up back together!

Just do it. There is no easy way to break some one's heart. The longer you string her along the harder it will be. Just be a man and do it in person and not over the phone.

You should be brutal. Don't give her an excuse to hang on and think you may get back together. Just say that you have to be honest because you respect her, but you just don't have romantic feelings towards her. Anything else would be cruel.
