i love this site:

Godchecker.com - Your Guide To The Gods. Mythology with a twist!

It's such a powerful statement about human's imagination, to me. I mean, they have 1 or 2000 gods on there! Having them all together like that makes it undeniable to me that we have had a deep fear of the fact that we are mortal (in the long term), and destructable (in the short term); vs immortal (in the long term) and indestructible and invincible (in the short term).

We have sought always, wherever our species has lived on this planet, to invent in our minds the idea of an all-good, all-knowing and all-powerful god (- especially in the middle east, or, in other places, gods) that will look after us.

The undeniable thing about this site is that god is a subjective experience, and cannot be experienced objectively. Why? because there are so many gods. if there was just one god, then godchecker.com would only have one god.

great site huh?

It needs to have a questionnaire that you can answer and it will tell you which God, god, whatever, you are most likely to believe in if you so choosed.

Your proof for more than one god's existence is a website? hehe. Beyond that, god cannot simply be subjective. Otherwise, since everyone is different, there would be as many gods as people. (In India, this is actually the case!) But really, more than one person "sharing a god" yet not having known each other previously does not indicate collaboration; it even negates it. Making it objective. Sorry.

have you ever heard of social networks? memes? go study some sociology before attempting to make such statements, besides, how does that make it objective? if the societies had a common distortion they would all share a common mistake, if it was objective all cultures and persons could share it and prove it which is not the case

anyways, great site

I absolutely love this site--thanks for posting it. I find it interesting to learn about the deities that various cultures worshiped.

I honor Celtic deities. The Celts did not see their deities as all-knowing or all-powerful. There is only one Celtic deity that I know of that was considered "The good god" (Dagda)

I believe that there are many deities but this doesn't mean that I honor them all. The whole concept of only one deity and only one "true" way to worship has never made any sense to me. To answer your question, I am not atheistic about any of the deities on the site.

Blasphemy! They rank Zeus as third among the greek gods! Not possible, he was King of the Gods. That's got to be good enough for the top spot. At least #2.

I guess I'm atheistic about over 2850 gods and counting! It does look like a pretty cool site.
