How do you measure something like that? Did the Christians really kill more people than the Romans, or the Mayans? Where are you getting your body counts?

If you are correct in your assumption, I would say this is the answer: The Christian church has held power over more people for a longer time than any other religion in history. The church held power at a time when the world's population was increasing and the technology of warfare was becoming more deadly. Since power will inevitably be abused, those abuses have led to a proportionate amount of death and suffering. If Jews, or Buddhists, or Druids had held such power, similar violence likely would have resulted. The problem is not the religion. The problem is the abuse of power by the human beings who hold it.

http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=21889 I suggest you read this site before condemning Christians for human suffering and death. You may accuse politics of Christian countries but not the people. Just like I am sure not all Muslims would strap a bomb on themselves. Happy reading and God Bless.

Religion is man made therefore imperfect. Faith in Christ is perfect and therefore beyond being the cause of any suffering or death..

That's an awfully large claim to make. Can you back it up somehow? Besides, you and I both know that religion is seldom the cause of war. It's often the excuse, but seldom the cause.

Hmmm... and just where are you getting your figures to compare? do you know the sources? or are you just going by what people are saying on here?... or in their own personal web pages.. or their organization's web page?

there is a lot of religious violence... but much of it is labeled as religious when it is not... it is by countries... it just happens that the countries are of one religion or another.... some people still attribute this to Jewish, Christian, Ismamic... etc.. violence... when it is just one country against another for political reasons.

Your premise is factually incorrect, but suffering and death comes as a result of the sin of mankind, regardless of their belief system.

Christ taught peace anyone whom promotes violence is not of Christ. This many "so called Christians" do not understand. Christ said Turn the other cheek. He said he whom lives by the sword dies by the sword. truth is many people even though they confess it do not know Christ!!
