Well my husband likes the diet pop or soda. He drinks mostly water, but he needs something else then just water. He also drinks juice and sometimes tea. But he does not care for coffee. I am the coffee drinker and I don't drink that much either.
Oh by the way, there are flavored water out there that are very good also!!

It depends on which stage of the disease you're in and what you're taking to control it. You need to work with your nutritionist on the list of foods and beverages and how to count them in your diet. I lost a friend at the ripe old age of 18 because she had a Coke and overcompensated with her insulin. Lost my dad to Diabetes because he didn't follow his diet. Lost my aunt to Diabetes because she didn't follow her diet.
Doctors can give you the tools to controlling the disease, but it's honestly up to the person with the disease to follow the diet carefully, check their glucose levels religiously, and follow the treatment exactly as prescribed. You really can get your health out of whack very quickly by taking someone else's advice that isn't specific to your own situation. Diabetes isn't the same in everyone, nor are the diets and treatments.
