I think what's wrong with this world sometimes is that we all try to be status quo. Well, what is status quo? We all need to be who we are, not what a system teaches us to be. We need to be accepted and enjoyed for the original, creative, individuals that we are. If you are lucky enough to go to a public school that does not push you into a mold (good luck with that, unfortunately) that's great. If not, homeschoolinging is where it's at when it comes to creating a person in their own right, with no apologies. Personally, I would go nuts if I sent my child to school for 9 hours a day and could only spend a couple of hours at night with her. I want to homeschool because I don't want my child to be told who she is, I want her to discover who she is, on her own, no outside influences. I think it is important to say that teachers should be making celebrity salaries and it is terrible what is being done to them today, just another example of some messed up scruples. I have no probs with teachers, I think the prob is that there are so many students and not enough teachers and things are slowly getting out of control in some situations/places (I'm being very liberal when I say this). I look to people like you who have been taught to not conform to make changes in society for the better. My hats off to your parents. Also, there are SO many socialization settings for homeschooled children where I live so this is not an issue. For people who live where there are not alot of homeschoolers, this may be an issue.

That rely's. Why are we freak's? Is it because we are smart? Is it because we do no longer have load's of pal's and function subject matters with fool's at public college? really, if it fairly is taken under consideration freaky, then i'd very a lot like to be a house schooled freak. Which i'm, honestly. :) and that i'm proud to be a freak! however, all freakyness aside, those who stereotype homeschooler's have the incorrect theory about them. we are no longer, in certainty, non secular or holy roller's. i'm no longer secluded from society, yet i'm no longer a social butterfly both (it truly is only me i'm a shy quiet man or woman). And, no longer all homestead schooler's are going to be pint-sized professor's. in certainty, some might want to no longer even comprehend who changed into the first president. lack of motivation, it fairly is. All homeschooler's are different.

You are Blessed !! Most children don't get to spend that much time with there familys, parents, and from what I know, home schooled kids, are a LOT smarter than public school children. They get one on one attention and they are often talented in multiple subjects. Art, Music, Math... My kids were home schooled for a long time by their step mom when they lived with their dad.. their IQ's are impresive and I can watch my son for hours be creative with things I would never even think of and I have an IQ of 132. But since he has enrolled in public school.. my daughter as well, both of them have been "bored". The grades have dropped and the interests have changed. You are lucky to have the chances you were given and blessed to have all the experiences given to you. I know my kids are better for it. They got to do some WONDERFUL things while they were home schooled and they will never forget them. I hope you take all of your education and experiences with you and teach your children the same.
God Bless

Contrary to popular belief, homeschoolers are not freaks. I think that is awesome that you were homeschooled!!! I was homeschooled as well, and wouldn't have had it any other way. In fact, I am going to be homeschooling my 6 year old step-son, and any other children the Lord blesses me and my husband with. Good luck and God bless in your future endeavors!!

Homeschooling is okay if you are developing social skills outside of the home. Eventually, you will have to interact with the idiots of the world. Most of us get this socialization through school.
