This technique has controls weight in 4 ways:

1) Severe pain tends to be an effective appetite supressent.

2) It can also be good for behavior modification. Everytime you think about eating, drive another staple into your ear. Put staples into your ear every couple of minutes during meals. Eventually you will associate the discomfort with eating reducing your desire to eat.

3) The inevitable series of infections will make you ill with a fever. The increased body temperature means more resting calorie consumption and of course the illness tends to reduce appetite.

4) Once your ears give up and fall off, you won't be able to hear about sales at the supermarket as easily. At this point, to continue to take advantage of the first three mechanisms, try driving staples straight into your scalp or maybe hitting your kneecaps with a ball-peen hammer.

It doesn't, discipline works for weight control. If ear stapling worked no one would be fat.

If you are overweight, the best way to lose weight is to EAT LESS, and EXERCISE MORE. No staples are required for this.
