why does it matter if they are elderly? Is it okay to keep the cash if the person that dropped it is young?

I would give it back to them. Wish them a good day and tell them God Bless.Last week in the town where I live a young man knocked a 79 yr old woman down, the fall broke her nose and arm just so he could take her purse. That's really sad and mean. It says in the Bible that we Reap what we Sow.You have presented a good question and check out some of the nutty answers you got. As you said it could be your grandparents, or one day yourself.God Bless you and have a good one.

even with the very incontrovertible certainty that i'd be tempted to keep it, i does no longer. it isn't any longer mine. It would not belong to me. i'd supply it decrease back. i don't think in stealing & i does no longer take what some different person might want to wish worse than me. If there wasn't a lot robbery and such, we does no longer favor to fasten our automobiles, or our houses. yet crime is rampant, be it robbery, or more effective violent crimes, which will't. I nonetheless keep in mind a time even as no man or woman interior the community had to fasten some thing and no man or woman might want to take what did not belong to them. I want it changed into nonetheless that way. each and every person changed into safer and folk fairly cared about one yet another, no longer only themselves. i imagine it truly is a sad state that we are in because human beings don't have any self-discipline, restraint, or compassion for different human beings.

Return it. Because I'd want somebody to do the same for me if I dropped some cash.

Too many people are out only for themselves and unable or just don't want to think of anybody else.

If we all tried a little harder to empathize with others, the world would be a better place.

I know I sound corny, but I believe it's true!!!

I'd return it. Most elderly people have so little money - and if you kept it you could be taking their money for their heart medicine or their food.

Now it might be different if they were running from a bank with red dye spewing from the money and there's a get-away car waiting with the engine running and passenger door hanging open...

To be honest, I'd keep the cash.I would keep the money if I saw them drop it and walk away. Sad but true. The other day the lady at the register gave me $20.00 too much, and I kept it. I didn't steal it. It was her mistake not mine. I'm honest to a certain point, I won't steal from anyone, but If I find money or too much is given to me it's mine.

Aww come on now. Give people the benefit of the doubt. Most people are decent and would of course help them.

There are deviants in our society who would take advantage. But, it is not as prevalent as the media leads you to believe. They are in the business of selling news, so sensationalization is hot.

Most people are decent.
