I was raised by Christians and I have always acknowledged the deity and omnipotence of God & JC but I must admit during my teens I got curious. I looked into everything from Judaism to Islam to Buddhism, as well as Wiccan & Druidic beliefs. I am now a faithful Christian.
Truth is a subtley subjective term. Define truth. The truth of what we find depends both on the truth of the seeker and the truth they seek. If you look and pick fine enough you can find permissive passages in any religion or religous text. What I did notice is that all of these religions are based on the same basic fundamental principes..... be good (another subjective term....) and that you get what you give.
Religion is not something we research to decide which is best, as we would with examining contracters and their bids. A large part of our spritiual devotion, whatever it may be, is our faith...our belief that what we believe is true.....period.

I am a history prof, and my emphasis is on different religions, including atheism. I have read and studied the Bible extensively. I used to be a pagan and studied wicca for a while.
But my research led me to believe in God. Here is one of the many reasons why...
There are many Bible prophecies that have come true. This is verified by many valid historical and archaeological sources, and it verifies the validity of the Bible..
There are many Bible prophecies that are coming true right before our very eyes!
There are only a few Bible prophecies left that have not yet come true, and they deal with end time events. It's very exciting!
If you would like to be intelligently informed and learn more about Bible Prophecy and End Time Events, click on the link below and watch the FINAL EVENTS docudrama online! The special effects are outstanding and the Biblical truth is eye-opening. After you do that, take their free online Bible Prophecy studies! They are FASCINATING! Very good question! I was 7 when my parents embraced the Mormon faith. I followed suit by being baptized at age 8 (what does a kid know about life, let alone religion, at that point?). Only after several eye-opening experiences did I realize that my religion is neither true or false, just ´another Christian religion.´
So, getting to the point, no, I did not investigate my church before joining in, but I would seriously recommend the procedure to anyone.

Yes I did some research. I started reading the Holy Bible from the beginning, and while reading I came across a question that God asked in
MICAH 6:2,3 God says
2) Hear ye, O mountains, the Lord's controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the Lord hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.
3) O my people, What have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? Testify against me.
Now these two scriptures put me into a thinking frenzy. I tried my hardest to come with something that God had did unto me. Realization kicked in, God had not done anything unto me but be there for me, and he is still with me today. God is complete and without him I am nothing. God's religion is Holiness, and in holiness there can be only one teacher, one shepard, one leader and guide. And once you come into God's understanding, the you will understand that there can only be one truth and one way.
So that is why I do not follow man-made religions. There are to many different ways. I follow God's religion written in the scriptures and I stand on it. Now God is asking you the same questions. Can you answer?
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray for you. Amen

I'm a Muslim guy and i just want to say that we have been taking classes in our religion since the age of 6 and we had these classes for 12 years including learning the history, rules and great men behind our religion and since we were the last religion we had to study the history of the rest religions, and we take our religion very seriously and we hardly break the rules. FAITH is wat keeps us all the way.

No - my religion formed via my living experience within the (my) environmental continuance - as it has progressed I have researched it when aptly motivated/able. Which means I've 'researched' many different forms of religion, for their applicabilty or otherwise with my view of the world.
This method i have found interesting and enriching / rewarding - albeit tough , although that could be because of the a-spiritual elements of our human living.
truth, hmm ...

as far as Catholics are in contact the survey is valueless. I examine interior the path of the questions and that they only ask what faith one identifies with. There are tens of hundreds of people who % out as cultural Catholics and not or infrequently attend Church. it may be comprehensible that if those human beings do no longer attend Church and have never been taught the religion that they could score very low on the survey. So, the survey ability no longer something in the way it exchange into performed. If practising Catholics were the only ones surveyed Catholics could have been the main knowledgable and not on the backside of the dimensions. God bless! In Christ Fr. Joseph

i did, and i also tried other paths just to be sure. in the end i knew islam was the only way to go for me.
any adult who chooses to follow a specific religion without looking deeper into it can't be taken seriously!
and anyone who reads about islam with an honest heart and an open mind will see it for what it is: pure Truth.

I searched for 20 years looking for viable answers to teh questions in my life. After a long winding road through mysticism and atheism I found what I was looking at the age of 38 in Christ. I also found that the logic of Christ is very persuasive and for me stands up to all of the previous ways I tried.
