If you can't read the tattoo....don't get it.
You can never be 100% sure with translations.

This site is dedicated to mistranslations and it shows some chinese tattoos that people have gotten and unfortunately, they are not what they thought they were.

Why do peole want to ink their bodies with so-called Chinese letters or words? Their are 110 different dialects of Chinese, how do you actually know the meaning of the symbols are ,are you Chinese, so what's the point? The dumbest thing I've ever seen. Pretending to be deep and relevant when you're not, I'll be glad for this fad to pass;it's ugly and stupid.

you are lucky that you were only getting question marks (the reason why you are getting all question marks is because your computer does not have the east asian languages installed -- it is under 'regional and language options' in windows xp)...

but going back to the chinese tattoo... you obviously are not much of a linguist, or you'd know that literal translations to another language is often with unintended results. and YOU were thinking about tattooing what you found on a translation site on your bodies? geez.. just because chinese characters look cool? do you even know anything about the chinese culture? *sigh* enough said...

if you really are going to go through with it, i would suggest that you consult with someone who is very proficient with the language, not someone who knows how to say a couple of words in chinese.

believe me, i've seen enough people with ridiculous chinese tattoos that are beyond hilarious. even though i'd love to see what disaster you can conjure up, i'm bound by my moral goodness to advise you otherwise.

I hope your computer can display Chinese characters....^V^
The name in Chinese for 'Joe' is "祖" and 'Chris' is "克里斯".
