I had this most of my life. I am over 40. I have had fatigue issues most of my life too. I think this is related to my fatigue. My blood sugar has always tested normal. I have asked many doctors this question. No doctor has ever provided an answer.

I started having this problem when I reached my mid 20's.
I tried vitamins but it did not work well and got worse in my 30's.
I found when I regularly took sleeping pills the itching receded
and I could eat some sweets without a problem.
I stopped taking sleeping pills and would itch for 2 days before it
stopped and that was after I ate my last sweet.
I'm in my mid 40's and I now just don't eat sugary foods or maybe
a small Hershey Kiss after a big meal. I think it is just our body's
way of saying "hey were getting too old to eat this stuff".
I also remember this starting when I started drinking alcoholic
drinks in my mid to late 20's. I still drink whiskey and beer but just don't eat the sweets, drink soda or milk. I stopped drinking wine
because it was making me itch like the sweets did.
I hope this helps you and if you find a solution please let me know
because I would love to enjoy candy bars and King Dons again.lol

Blood sugar testing normal, yet you experience symptoms only when you eat sugary things? Was the test actually coming out borderline anywhere? Itchy skin isn't exactly a classic diabetes symptom that I know of, and a lady I know who had hypoglycemia (pretty much the opposite of diabetes though oddly enough with the same dietary treatment) didn't mention it.

Try cutting down on sugar or cutting it out, and eating more protien. At worst, it won't hurt.

Good luck!

Eating high amounts of sugar speeds up oxidation (wear and tear) of cells, perhaps making your cells on your skin die faster, and hence making you itchy. Exercise improves blood flow, which may explain the relilef of the itching. And oh yeah, like the other guy said, eat less sugar, it makes you age faster ( i swear!)
