I have a 1999 Nissan Frontier with 4 cly. engine. The service engine light keeps coming on. When I check the code with my OBD II code reader, I get a code of P1148 which is "closed loop, right bank". Does anyone know what this is ? And how to fix it ? The truck seems to idel a little ruff while the light is on, then fine after I reset. Then I get the light again two days later.

Your 02 sensor on the right bank(depending on where the reference loation is on the Frontiers) is stuck in open loop. Meaning, the car will default to rich mixture(more fuel) because the 02 sensor is not sending a signal to the pcm. It's a simple fix by replacing the sensor. The rich mixture might be your rough idle problem.

it is the O2 sensor on the right side of the car, now the only thing you have to figure out if its the right looking at the car or the right side sitting in the car

either way its an easy fix...

That would be Front right O2 sensor failure.

get a new sensor and your car will quit idling wrong and your light will stay out.
