Well, if you were brought here by your parents were you were younger, then you should apply for a temporary VISA. If you get the visa then you should apply for citizenship. But you don't need the citizenship to go to school here. If you were born here and your parents were illegal then you are a United States citizen and can go to school were ever you want. I f you don't want to apply for a VISA and you are under 18 then you should try a public school. They don't ask if you are illegal. If you are over 18 then I would apply for a VISA. If you want more info go to http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/services/residency/investment.htm

Even if you are married to an American citizen still doesn't mean you can get a green card automatically. You have to return to your country and apply for an alien visa and you also have to have a waiver be approved. They can deny you, for whatever reason. The cost for this is around 5000.00 for the attorney and filing fees for INS. Plus, the cost for travel etc... It is a big misconception that if you marry an American citizen you will automatically receive your green card. This is not true. I know first hand.

Amnesty is held about every 5 years. One only needs to hang out discreetly until then and you're given legal status. We have a system. This is the system.

No! Once you are in the US illegally, you cannot apply for legal status without several years of waiting and filing for visas, not to mention the amount of $$$ you'll spend filing those visas!
Once your in the US illegally its very difficult to apply for status.

You need to apply for your paperwork. Get sponsored by your employer, and all that. Theorectically you can stay indefinitely if you keep your paperwork up. Do you want to be a citizen? Apply for naturalization.

Get a company or employer to sponsor you. Difficult if you weren't first here on a student or work visa and just overstayed, however.

if you entered US legally, you still might have a chance. If you can find an employer who would be willing to sponsor you, you can apply for "green card". other than that and marriage thing, just wait and hope for another amnesty to come around.
