I think some guys feel sex is a release, even for stress. It's like they need to be comforted and calmed and they get this feeling that the release offered by sex will do that. That's my observation.

That's a common stereotype.
I'm going to give you a serious answer. Savor it, you won't get many in response to this question.
Before men were civilized (from the neanderthals to the 'cavemen'), population growth was simply the most important factor of being alive. you were there to reproduce, and people knew it. reasons were battling other groups of primal humans, building (very basic) housing, etc.
from generation to generation of these primitive men (and women), the male sex drive grew and grew as 'technology' expanded and more people were required to accomplish the needs of the group.
the urge to reproduce hasn't gone away in men, thank god, and neither has it in women--they want sex just as much as men, but advertise it differently and more subtly.

It's the penis they can't help it. Like no matter what they're thinking the penis always tells them to think about doing the deed. It's not their fault. Sometimes you have to just go with it.

for some men it is their way of calming down. my husband and i just lost our baby and that afternoon he initiated sex with me. it is his way of calming down and trying to get on with his life. it made me realize that our marriage wasn't going to die after what we went through. sex is not just something men love to do it is also a way of releasing stress and anxiety.

It's hormones in a guys brain that make him want to.Some guys' hormones aren't as bad as others' and so they are usually more sensitive.
