She asked when we were making fairy cakes the other day. It was great fun. I said I guess they do. She also posed the question do they make them with their nanny too? The logic of the young is fascinating.

Tell her that .the fairies are the insects with long wings that fly in throught your windows when the lights are on in the summer

You have heard that they sometimes make cakes - but you've never seen them do it.

Then she will grow up not screaming at every insect she sees and not believing everything she reads in the newspapers

They also make angel food cakes, and yes... the Nanny Fairy is generally the one who teaches the little fairies how to bake. Nanny Fairies teach Mommy Fairies how to bake too, when they're young, but sometimes they forget because they're so busy just being mommies, so the Nanny Fairies must also teach their little grandfairies so the tradition will be certain to continue.

How can some people forget what they & all of us were @ 1 time in our lives. We were all Babies, like it or not. Without babies we'd be exstinct like the dinosaurs. -)) (lol) The way your granddaughter put it was beautiful. It's just finding the right way & time to let them know the truth. Of course, it's always beautiful 2 listen to the upside down things they often come up with (either by doing or saying). Life's what we make it so we set the standards 4 the next generation behind us.

Do you bear in mind once you have been 6 and have been at a friends social gathering or some thing like that and there have been those small, colored-icing-crowned guy or woman cup-brownies on the table with 2 spongcake 'wedges' on precise and 'tens of millions'? properly, they're 'wings',.. like a fairies wings,. for this reason; Fairy brownies. :)

urm, no... tell her the truth...
This is why kids today are so spoilt and naive...If you start telling her the Truth now... shell learn that there is no such thing as father Christmas or whats the other one....well i cant remember...
But it doesn't really matter...
Teach your children well so they don't turn back to you and start blaming you for not telling them that fairies don't make fairy cakes!!!

The young have a lovely perspective on life, don't they? If only we kept that wonder into our cynical adulthood, the world would be a beter place. God bless her!
