first i hope you are up to date on your tetnus (sp?) shot. second i hope you cleaned it well with anti-bacterial soap, or peroxide, bactine.. then vitamin E oil. rub it in gently and cover it from the elements for the day. at night, remove it and let the air get to it so it can breath.
i have many many many scars from surgery. one is 18 inches long that i should have done this to, but didn't know until after it had already healed. the nurse told me i should have done this, and that in the future i should do it to make them either less noticable, or disappear. most of my scars only i notice.. but i know where to look.
and dont worry.. if it does leave a little one.. you know it was for a good reason and you can be proud of that.

Clean the area well with cool water, then apply Neosporin or some similar anti-bacterial cream. If it starts to feel hot, apply an ice pack- but no more than 15 minutes at a time because you don't want to give yourself frostbite.
Good luck!

Keep LOADS of Neosporin on it. If you can't get Neosporin, use Vaseline or other petroleum jelly product. That will keep it from even scabbing. If you can't keep it moist ALL DAY and night, consider using Cocoa Butter (Palmers is best) if you don't want people telling you your face is shiny. But the Neosporin can keep you beautiful. It really is a "miracle drug."
p.s. some Neosporin actually contains cocoa butter...

All of these answers may work but ultimately, everyone scars differently. If you have any other scars that scarred badly than there's a good chance this one will too. If its that important you should go see a dermatologist and explain your concern.

Vitamin E oil is best, but that may give you pimples so only apply it after you wash your face. I would also apply shea butter.
My friend swears by taking wheatgrass shots. It's blended up grass and you drink it very fast because it tastes gross, but apparently the nutrients in it help heal your body.
